Overview
This Two Day bottom-centric class will focus on the box tie anatomy, with specific focus on how to tie the arms in ways that best suits each anatomical form. We'll cover stemmed vs stemless box ties, cinch modifications, and third ropes all with modifications for each box tie form. We'll also cover stretching, strengthening, and general body care for box ties.
Riggers will leave the series knowing one box tie pattern optimally-suited to their tying partner, as well as having been exposed to other patterns and the rationale for various modifications. Bottoms will leave with a more in-depth knowledge of their body in box tie, and the language to communicate the details of the harness that suits them best.
Tying pairs must commit to the series together. This class does not teach one specific pattern, but rather learning the best box tie for each bottom, it is imperative each duo attend the weekend together. This class is ideal for folks who have some familiarity with box tie already, but who struggle to find a version of the tie that feels safe/sustainable. We'll discuss hypermobility, inflexibility, general pain and instability in box tie. Fuoco will do her best to address the unique bottom needs, however bottoms with injury histories that prevent them from feeling comfortable in the box tie position may not have their specific issues addressed (i.e. if your question is a doctor-question, please consult a doctor).

Instructor / Co-Presenter Bio
Fuoco (she/her) began her rope journey as a bottom in Phoenix, Arizona in early 2013 and shortly thereafter moved to London, where much of her early rope learning happened. Upon moving back to the United States, she began presenting at cons around the country sharing her love of rope.
She is switchy in rope, a vocal advocate for rope bottoms, and an unapologetic feminist as she navigates the world of Shibari. As an educator, she's decidedly non-dogmatic in her approach to teaching. Her classes instead aim to teach bottoms to better understand their bodies and the unique needs of their anatomies and to offer riggers the tools to adapt their tying accordingly and understand the logic behind those adaptations.
When she’s not doing rope, fuoco is a professional acrobat, constantly training to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Her dedicated study of the mechanics of the body make her especially interested in developing more comprehensive education for bottoms informed by these practices.
